Visiting the top tourist destinations of Cusco is always a great adventure. Now imagine an ATV tour through its beautiful high Andean landscapes and the most symbolic areas that the capital of the Inca’s empire has to offer. You will be able to do this and more during this tour while riding a 4-wheel metal beast: an ATV (quad bike). Admire the huge rural meadows that characterize the great Sacred Valley and get to the Salt Mines of Maras, which have been exploited since the Inca age and whose origin still remains as a mystery. Then you will visit the archeological site of Moray, known as a laboratory of Inca agricultural research, where the particular layout of its platforms can still be seen clearly. Let the mysterious city of Cusco amaze you while being on a quad bike!
Itinerary
Day 1: Cusco – Maras – Moray – Salineras – Cusco
The ATV tour starts at 7:00 am with a pickup from your hotel or at 1:00 pm with a pickup from the Plaza de Armas (directly at the Inca statue). Then you’ll head towards Cruzpata in a private transport, a small community located on the route to Chinchero in the Sacred Valley, around 40 minutes away from Cusco. Here, you will do the pre-tour training with explanations and some tips from the guide. Then you will begin with the adventure as you tour the Salt Mines of Maras and enjoy the beautiful landscape of the mountains in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Afterwards, you will head towards the archaeological and enigmatic area of Moray, where you will take a break and have some time to explore the area. At both sites, you will have enough time to enter and to take some photos but the quad biking guide will not enter with you and give elaborate explanations of the two attractions. Finally, you will descend and return to the cultivated areas of Maras until you reach Cruzpata again where the driver awaits you to return to the city of Cusco. The tour has a distance of approx. 50 km.
